There are currently around 3,000 active trainers. Just 4 years ago there were 6,600.
Horse population continues to deplete with 44,000 currently active. Last year it was 46,000, 10 years ago it was 56,000.

Don't forget the dwindling public. As more old timers keep dying off the track attendance and Otb's look like a small gathering.
The young people have not embraced our sport like the old timers did when they were young. Obviously the options people have
today is the problem. They rather play on their X-Box then join the real world.
